Critique Criteria
You will be turning in a full-sized human bust, an animal, or larger than life plant or insect constructed using aluminum flashing, and cold connections such as pop-rivets, tabs, screws, clips, hammered rivets, grommets, or brads.
DUE at the start of class on the specified date given in class.
Criteria
- The sculpture must be three dimensional. Volume can be created or implied through use of planar elements, line, shadow, light, and negative space. This means it should be fully in-the-round with visual interest from all angles. Wall hung pieces are the only exception, since those may have a back side where they are against the wall. However, they must still be volumetric.
- It may be free standing and completely capable of supporting all parts of itself, mounted in a secure and attractive manner to a base that compliments the overall aesthetic of the piece, or affixed to a wall with a secure method for hanging it.
- The attachment methods (whether they are rivets or otherwise) are an aesthetic component that must be deliberately incorporated into the overall design.
