Add to this discussion a 500-750 word essay on how you came to art, what your philosophy is on the subject of art meaning and place in the world, and what you think creativity is. As a gauge, my introductory essay is exactly 1000 words long.
Your voice is extremely important. There are absolutely no wrong answers. Rather, you will open yourself up to hear contradictory ideas, healthy disagreements, interesting revelations, and thought provoking/philosophy changing concepts.
Be ready to grow, change your mind, and evolve your point of view.
TBD.
The first is your submission of an articulate essay (cannot be AI written, including Chat GPT, as these are the epitome of lack of creativity and the subjugation of your individuality). It must be readable and narrative in nature, with whole sentences and spell check. This does not need to be great literature, just something you take seriously. You must put thought into what you say, and be truthful; the point of this exercise is to help you establish your own perspective at this juncture in your life. I would have written a completely different essay 45 years ago (when I was taking this class) than now.
The second graded category is based upon participation in an ongoing commenting session on what others wrote, and to reply to those who comment on what you have to say.
